Dr. Amy Long has cared for pets at Pet's Friend Animal Clinic since June 2008. A native Virginian, Dr. Long started out in the animal care field as a veterinary assistant and receptionist in 1997 before completing her veterinary education. She attended Guildford College and received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 2000. She went on to attend Ross University and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She completed her clinical year of veterinary studies at Cornell University. Her professional interests include soft-tissue surgery and medicine.
Her animal companions include two dogs, Bocephus and Jessie, and two cats, Hank and Ruby. When she's not at the hospital, Dr. Long enjoys baking, golfing, horseback riding and taking her dogs to the beach and on hikes.
