Ruby Hsieh
Dr. Ruby Hsieh is a southern California native who attended the University of California, Davis where she earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science in 2010. She then moved to St. Paul, Minnesota for 4 years to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Minnesota in 2015 after which she realized the snow was a bit much and returned to sunny California. While working in general practice in the San Francisco bay area, her interest in preventive medicine drove her to complete a Master's degree in Public Health and Certification in Public health in 2020. She is excited to use her knowledge of public health and understanding of One Health to better serve clients and promote a healthy happy bond between pets and their owners. Her interest in the human animal bond and goal to promote both the physical and emotional well being of pets led her to become Fear Free certified in 2020. Currently Dr. Hsieh is working on improving her Mandarin so she can better support the needs of pet owners for whom English is a second language.
Dr. Hsieh and her husband are proud pet parents to a mischievous 8 year old corgi mix named Louis and an energetic Chihuahua Border Collie mix named Sadie whose antics keep life interesting. On her off time Dr. Hsieh enjoys cooking and baking, gardening, hiking, and exploring the Bay Area. Her current favorite international travel experience was when she visited Tibet and Mount Everest base camp and she hopes to be able to do some more international exploring in the future. She is also happy to cuddle up at home with fantasy and science fiction novels or a good romantic comedy drama.
